Obituary For Regan James Esper

In Loving Memory of Regan James Esper,

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Regan James Esper, a beloved son, brother, father, uncle and friend, who departed this world too soon at the age of 45 on August 30, 2023.

Regan was born on March 24, 1978 to parents Debra (Taylor) Bednarski and Jeffrey Regan Esper. He grew up surrounded by the beauty of the coastal town of San Diego that he came to adore. From a young age, he developed a deep love for the outdoors, the ocean and sunsets, two passions that shaped his life.

Regan was a charismatic, funny and a sweet person with a huge heart. His many friends fondly called him “KATT” because they said he seemed to have nine lives. More than anything, Regan loved his two children, spending time with family and friends, listening to reggae music and hanging out at the Colorado River and the sand dunes of Glamis.

He was recently employed at Twin Peaks Middle School, where the staff and children adored him. He was always looking out for the kids that were bullied or found sitting alone at lunchtime. The kids referred to him as “the cool guy”.

Regan's love for his family ran deep. His family was his anchor, and he found solace in their presence, creating countless cherished memories that will endure through generations.

Regan is survived by his two children Regan and Skye Esper, mother Deb Bednarski, stepfather Bruce Bednarski, father Jeff Esper, brother Justin Esper and wife Melissa, sister Darby Bednarski, niece Taylor Esper, nephew James Esper and many close cousins, aunts and uncles.

In honor of Regan's passions, the family will gather for an intimate sunset service on October 15, 2023. As the sun dips below the horizon, casting a warm, golden glow across the sand and sea, we will come together to celebrate the life of a man who lived with love, kindness, and an unwavering appreciation for the beauty of the world around him.

In lieu of flowers, the family is accepting donations to the Esper Memorial fund for his two beloved children. If you feel inclined, please visit https://everloved.com/life-of/regan-esper for more information on how you can make a donation.

Regan, you were a gift to us all, and your light will forever shine in our hearts. May you find eternal peace in the tranquil sunsets of heaven.
