Obituary For Anthony Craig Jackson

Anthony (Tony) Jackson was a beloved friend, husband, father, brother, and grandfather. He passed away on April 2, 2023 and will be greatly missed. He served in the United States Marine Corps and worked in the freight and transportation industry for most of his life. He lived in a variety of places during his lifetime but most recently settled in the neighborhood of Ocean Beach, San Diego, CA with his late wife, Elizabeth. He devoted the last few years of his life to caring for Elizabeth, his wife of 27 years, until her passing in 2019. Their dog Roxy, of 16 years, passed away several months ago. Tony enjoyed living near the beach, riding his bike, hanging out in the sun, spending time with his friends and family, and listening to music. He valued his relationships more than anything else. He had great taste in music, played the guitar, and was an excellent cook. During the summer, he would often spend time on his patio, playing tunes on his speaker, and enjoying the fresh breeze from the nearby ocean. He was a loving, thoughtful, honest, intelligent, loyal, and positive person who brought sunshine to those he knew. May he rest in peace, reunited with his wife Elizabeth, and with Roxy.

Ecclesiastes 3:1-2 and 3:4 "For everything there is a season, and a time for every purpose under heaven: a time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted...a time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance."

I meet Tony and eventually Elizabeth in the early 2000s through my work. Tony taught me about the freight industry while he was with UPS Freight. Over the years, every shipment started with about an hour of catching up on how each of our families were doing. My heartfelt prayers for their kids - it's so hard on hearts to lose both parents too soon. May God wrap his loving arms around the whole family to give comfort and peace.
