There really are significant important changes you can make to delay your visit.

Stop Smoking – Avoid the Funeral Home

The first habit and maybe the most urgent to change is to quit smoking. According to the American Lung Association, cigarette smoking is the number one cause of preventable disease and death worldwide. Smoking-related diseases claim over 400,000 American lives each year.

The risk for disease is reduced when people quit smoking. The earlier they quit, the greater the health benefits. The risk is lowered for lung cancer, heart disease, stroke, COPD, and other serious conditions. The long-term benefits of quitting smoking are fantastic. According to the American Heart Association, non-smokers, on average, live 14 years longer than smokers. It is very difficult to quit smoking. So maybe think about having more beautiful skin and not aging so quickly because smoking can cause wrinkles.

The website IDEA has a very complete description of the 25 most significant health benefits of physical activity, and exercise.

Eat healthy – Avoid the Funeral Home

It appears that the most significant items to include in a healthy diet are fruits and vegetables. In a Harvard Nurses’ study, the higher the intake of fruits and vegetables, the lower the chances of developing cardiovascular disease.

According to the USDA, fruits and vegetables high in fiber can reduce chances of developing coronary heart disease. Some fruits and vegetables can help reduce blood pressure, decrease bone loss, and prevent kidney stones. Produce also contains different phytochemicals, natural chemical compounds in plants, which maintain proper cell health.

The Journal of Epidemiology & Community Health found that eating five to seven servings of fruits and vegetables per day had a 36 percent lower risk of dying from any condition.

There is also evidence that eating less helps you age slower as shown in a study at St. Louis University. They found that limiting calories lowered production of T3, a thyroid hormone that slows metabolism—and speeds up the aging process.

Limit alcohol use to Avoid the Funeral Home

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, one in 10 deaths in adults aged 20-64 is due to drinking too much alcohol. Those who died shortened their lives by almost 30 years. The deaths often came from automobile accidents, violence, risky sexual behaviors, and alcohol poisoning.

In addition, deaths occurred due to health effects caused by long-term alcohol abuse such as: heart disease, liver disease, and breast cancer. To see a slide show depicting the health risks of chronic heavy drinking, see Medicine.net.

Pay attention to other benefits

The four topics above can probably be the most important increasing your life-span. However, there are others that need to be considered in combination with them.

  • Use sunscreen because it prevents cancer, slows aging, and increases the health of your skin.
  • Reduce stress in your life because it can cause headaches, high blood pressure, heart problems, diabetes, skin conditions, asthma, arthritis, depression, and anxiety.
  • Do not skip on sleep because it can cause accidents, impair thinking, create health problems, cause depression, and ages your skin.
  • Get an education because people who get a bachelor’s degree live about 9 years longer than those who do not graduate from high school according to the Center for Disease Control.

In addition, to delay that funeral; have a positive attitude, be social, and have fun.
